Forget about Strava, if your ride isn’t on Instagram, did it even happen? At Bike Glendhu, not only do we have killer trails, but we also boast some jaw-dropping photo ops. Here’s your guide to the most Insta-worthy spots that’ll have your followers double-tapping like crazy.
1. VELO CAFE & BEER GARDEN
Snap a pic of your flat white or ice-cold kombucha against the rustic backdrop of the Beer Garden’s log pile and rolling hills. Bonus points if you catch the sunset glinting over the mountains.

2. JACK’S SPOT
After tackling the climb, Jack’s Spot is your go-to for a breather and breathtaking views.
Jack’s Spot isn’t a trail at Bike Glendhu, it’s more of a meeting hub. From here, you can either drop into our Lower Mountain trails or climb your way up to the Mid and Upper Mountain.
Back in the day, this land belonged to Jack McRae, the grandfather of the current landowner. Long before the idea of a bike park ever took shape, Jack would come to this very spot to take a break from farm life, soak in the view, and let his mind wander.
Today, Jack’s Spot stands as a tribute to him and his favorite piece of land, now shared and enjoyed by everyone who visits Bike Glendhu.
The sweeping panorama of Lake Wānaka is peak summer perfection. Whether you’re snapping a selfie or a group shot, this spot is a classic.

3. FALCON’S NEST
Falcon’s Nest is the summit of Bike Glendhu, the highest accessible point on the mountain. For those ready to earn their photo, Falcon’s Nest rewards riders with an unbeatable mountain view.
After all, nothing screams “a job well done” like standing above the world with your bike beside you.

4. THE JUNCTION
Where trails converge, so do good times. The Junction is a hub of activity and a great spot to catch candid shots of your mates or your post-ride glow. Top tip, this spot is killer at sunset.

5. ADZE UP
Adze up takes you around the back of our mountain and is your access to the summit. It’s an incredible climb, offering views of the Matukituki, Motatapu Valleys and Mt. Aspiring National Park as you follow the switch-backs to your final destination.
Take time to appreciate the view, you can hide the fact you’re stopping to catch your breath by snapping a photo! Shh we wont tell anyone..

6. COLIN’S CORNER
Colin’s Corner on Switch It Up is a shoutout to Colin, a legend who’s been key to making Bike Glendhu what it is today.
Sitting just a bit higher than Jack’s Spot, it’s the perfect reward for those who don’t mind a little extra pedal power for epic views.
